They help shape and communicate identities—bringing people together or pulling them apart. In everyday life, however, communication is often more guarded. People tend to conceal their true feelings, developing ways to express themselves that may hint at the truth without fully revealing it—out of fear, social pressure, or the desire to be accepted. This leads to complex layers of meaning, constructed through symbols, gestures, and allegory—forms of communication that both reveal and obscure.
Whisper Down the Lane reflects on the contradictions and entanglements of hidden expression—highlighting the oxymoron at the heart of how we both reveal and protect ourselves through what we choose to share.
